M.D’s Message

Voltech celebrated its 16th Anniversary in October 2011.

As I sit down to pen my thoughts on the eve of the 16th Anniversary celebrations of the Voltech Group, I cannot but look back on the modest beginning we made 16 years ago when we launched our testing and commissioning services under the banner of Voltech Engineers, a proprietory concern.

Much water has flowed under the bridge since then, and today we stand tall and proud, having crossed the business turnover mark of Rs.100 crores, which has been due to the foresight of our founders and the dedication of the employees at all levels.

I have no doubt that our product diversification plans and the establishment of our presence in various countries during the last few years, have definitely helped us in reaching various milestones in our business ventures; and I am confident that if we maintain this tempo, our group business will grow exponentially.

To achieve faster growth, we need finances; and to raise these finances, our Group Companies have to go migrate from Private to Public. As the first step towards this, the name of Voltech Transformers Private Limited has been changed to Voltech Manufacturing Company Limited with effect from 21st September 2011, and in due course our other product manufacturing companies will be merged with this new Public Company. We can expect interesting developments in the next few months.

We have extended our presence to Srilanka by registering Voltech Lanka (Private) Limited as a private company at Colombo in September 2011.

It is heartening to note that our group companies continue to receive good orders, big and small.

I would like to sign off by wishing everyone of you and your families a Very Happy and Enjoyable Diwali which will be celebrated this month immediately after our group’s 16th Anniversary celebrations.

M. Umapathi
Managing Director – Voltech Group

Vistorial

At the outset, we sincerely apologize for the suspension of the publication of Voltech Vista in the last few months. …

This has been due to circumstances beyond our control. In any case, this suspension has proved to be a blessing in disguise, in the sense that the significance of the circulation of Vista among our Group employees, as the best mode of internal communication, has been brought to the fore. Team Vista also looks forward for a new beginning, the Vista can be viewed in this link ( www.voltechgroup.com/vista ).

Imagine the world without any communication. Sounds strange Experts agree that good communication is one of the keys of being a successful organization. Employee Surveys consistently show us that organizations without effective Workplace Communication practices suffer from poor employee morale.

If managers are able to communicate their ideas clearly, so that the employees definitely understand what is expected of them, they will perform their jobs efficiently. In contrast, lack of communication between a manager and his subordinates will result in the latter getting frustrated and confused, as they will be all the time guessing what their faults are.

Communication, which was once considered a soft skill, is now seen to have hard business impacts.

Indian Managers spend 20% of their time redoing or correcting the mistakes of others approximately one and half hours every day, which shows lack of proper communication among employees.

Developing a Communication Culture means encouraging people to feel comfortable about giving and receiving feedback about their performance in the interests of better business and their own personal development. FEEDBACK is an essential part of communication. Feedback can be both positive and negative.

The importance of FEEDBACK, as far as Vista is concerned, cannot be over stressed. The success of Vista depends on the feed back received from its readers. We request everyone to contribute interesting news items, articles (both general and technical), cartoons, gags or anything worth publishing, so that every issue of Vista can be made more interesting and readable.

Contact us with your feed backs and suggestions at editorial@voltechgroup.com

We assure you that, with your support, Voltech Vista will continue to be published hereafter regularly as a quarterly newsletter of the Voltech Group.

We take this opportunity to wish all our readers and their families A VERY HAPPY, HEALTHY AND PROPEROUS NEW YEAR's, with plenty of reading of the quarterly issues of Vista.
